Jiangsu University, situated in a beautiful and well-known historic and cultural city on the southern bank of the Yangtze River. It is one of the key universities in China and is among the first batch of colleges and universities that are authorized to confer doctor degrees, master degrees and engineering master degrees. Jiangsu University ranks among the top hundred universities in China in terms of comprehensive school-running ability. The origin of Jiangsu University traces back to Sanjiang, normal School founded by such patriots as Zhang Zhidong in 1902. In August, 2001, upon the approval of the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu University was founded by merging Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Zhenjiang Medical College and Zhenjiang Teacher’s College. At present, Jiangsu University has 24 schools, with 280 professors and 850 associate professors, and an enrolment of more than 35,000 students, of whom about 6,000 are postgraduates. Jiangsu University has an area of 203 hectares. The main campus is as beautiful as a painting and has been called “Eastern Suburb Garden” in Zhenjiang.
The University attaches great importance to scientific research. As a result, it has won more than 400 national, ministerial or provincial awards for its research work in recent years. With about 200 patents approved in China, it now ranks 43rd among all Chinese universities for the number of patent application and approval.
Jiangsu University has fine facilities for both teaching and recreation. Apart from the library and all kinds of laboratories which are open to students all day long, students can make the best of the modern gymnasium and recreation centre to mould their minds and bodies on the garden-like campus.

MBBS Programs

Jiangsu University (JU) with a school-running history of 100 years. Situated in the historically and culturally renowned city Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province, It offers 12 doctoral programs, one level-one discipline specialist doctoral program, 31 master’s programs and one level-one discipline specialist master’s program. It has 5 affiliated hospitals with 3030 beds in total, among which 2 AAA hospitals have 1570 beds. Department of Pre-Clinical Medicine Besides offering the basic courses for the undergraduate and graduate programs of Clinical Medicine (including Pediatric Medicine), Preventive Medicine, Nuclear Medicine Medical Iconography, Pharmacy, Biological Technology, Nursing and Stomotology, it offers the master’s doctoral and post doctoral programs of Pre-Engineering, Pre-Fabricated-clinical medicine, Biology and pharmacology as well as 2 newly established undergraduate programs of medical Jurisprudence and Medical Verification.

Other Facilities

The internship lasts for 1 year (at least 48 weeks). Students can choose to do it in China, their home country or any other country. If students do internship in China, they must pass the HSK 6 and the university will help arrange the internship in the affiliated hospitals, mainly in Jiangsu University Affiliated Hospital and Zhenjiang First People’s Hospital. They can choose to live in the school dormitory or rent a house near the hospitals, while an agreement is necessary between the student and university.
Jiangsu University has 9 affiliated hospitals spreading in Jiangsu Province, Shanghai and other cities. Among them, Jiangsu University Affiliated Hospital is founded in 1936, is the largest and advanced comprehensive hospital in Zhenjiang. It is of the top level in China with 1000 beds open to patients. And the Zhenjiang First People’s Hospital is founded in 1922, formerly a American Christian hospital. Now it has evolved into a multi-functional hospital of first class. It has 1000 beds and 1.3million outpatients per year.
After the internship, students have to take the final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation in UJS before graduation and there’s no requirement on HSK level for the diploma and certificate.
After obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master’s degree.
